Trawler Issue 2

As a reader of our first issue of Trawler Paper we thought you’d be interested to know that it was a massive success. In fact it’s popularity has lead to us writing, photographing and designing Issue 2, and the good news is that it is being printed this March!

The Spring 2016 issue is bigger (an extra 8 pages) and has everything from an article on leading Leigh Ceramicist Miss Annabel Dee to the wonders of wild swimming in the Thames Estuary, as well as short stories, poetry, and beautiful photo essays.

It really is a wide and varied read, and as before has been created by people who give their time and energy for free, so please support us by searching out for a copy in Leigh-on-Sea and the surrounding areas. Alternatively you’ll be able to buy a copy from this site as soon as it becomes available.

But That’s Not all…

To celebrate the second issue of Trawler we’re holding a Launch Party at the Leigh Community Centre on April 15th 2016. As well as giving away copies of the paper we’ll also have an amazing range of talks given by a host of local talent.

Six speakers will each deliver a seven minute talk with topics ranging from wine-tasting (which will actually includes a free glass of delicious wine to all attendees) to building a bamboo bicycle - so to inform, educate and entertain will be the order of the night!

Alongside our amazing speakers we have live music from local musician Dave Crix as well as some impromptu poetry from Ray Morgan and Jo Overfield. It’s set to be a night of interesting and varied entertainment that will also raise some money for a charitable cause (£5 from every ticket goes to

So please go to and buy your tickets and we look forward to seeing you at the event!
